Meet your favourite animals with this hands on experience

Nestled away in 32 acres of woodland and paddocks in the heart of rural Shropshire, Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom is a small family run zoo located on the outskirts of Telford. With animals such as meerkats, lemurs, snakes and owls and even African wildcats, the zoo is a fantastic day out for people of all ages.

This Half Day Animal Keeper experience allows anyone from the age of 6-years-old and upwards the chance to meet and come face-to-face with a wide-variety of incredible animals, including lemurs, meerkats, owls, reptiles, hedgehogs and even a giant tortoise.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by a friendly member of the Hoo Farm team. During your experience you and a friend will have the chance to handle, feed and stroke the various different animals. From Kovu and Uuka the meerkats to Bonnie the Burmese python, or Oscar the eagle owl to Duma the serval, there is something for everyone.

Running from 10am to 1pm, this experience typically runs as follows:

9.50am - Arrive at Hoo Farm.
10.00am - Check in for the experience.
10.05am - A short safety briefing to make sure you get the most out of your experience whilst staying safe.
10.10am to 10.40am - Handle the Reptiles (the reptiles used change session by session, but may include a Burmese Python, Reticulated Python, Giant Tortoise or Monitor Lizard).
10.40am to 11am - Handle their Hedgehogs and/or their Tenrecs.
11.00am to 11.40am - Meet and handle one of their many owls at Hoo Farm.
11.40am to 12pm - Lunch Time. All participants get a free drink included as part of their experience.
12pm to 12.30pm - Hand feed the Lemurs
12.30pm to 1pm - The favourite part of the experience for most people, Meerkat time. Get up close and personal with the Meerkats.
