London Zoo has opened its biggest and most breath-taking experience yet: Land of the Lions!
With over 720 different species of animal, ZSL London Zoo is a brilliant way to immerse yourself into the animal kingdom.
Enter the crumbling ruin of an amphitheatre-style Lion Temple and see the majestic big cats roaming just metres away, separated only by fine wires.
Transporting visitors from the heart of London to the vibrant setting of Sasan Gir, the exhibit immerses visitors in the sounds, sights and native wildlife of India, while highlighting the importance of conserving these beautiful and endangered animals.
Land of the Lions also supports a global breeding effort, helping to secure the future of the species by working with Zoos all over the world to ensure the existence of a healthy population continues.
For those who want to experience a taste of conservation in action, Land of the Lions sees visitors become part of an interactive adventure as they help ZSL’s forest rangers deal with a ‘lion-emergency’ in the Gir Forest, and lend a hand to the veterinary team who come to the rescue.
With 2,500sqm of breath-taking space, including an overhead walkway, re-creations of Sasan Gir train station, a crumbling temple, Indian high street and so much more, Land of the Lions will inform, inspire and excite wildlife lovers of all ages and promises to be an experience unlike any other!

There are 77 species of mammal at London Zoo so you are bound to see your favourites amongst them, and lots of unfamiliar species too.

Parking
Paid parking is available in the zoo's Gloucester Slips Car Park The zoo's main entrance is situated on the Outer Circle of Regent's Park NW1, which is outside of the congestion charge zone.
Access
Whilst most of the Zoo is accessible for wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties, there is no direct access to the Aquarium. If you visit the Information Kiosk near the Zoo entrance however, we will arrange for a volunteer to take you into the Aquarium via level access at the rear.
Land of the Lions now open at ZSL London Zoo!
The wait is over and we can now officially say that Land of the Lions is now open to the public! ZSL London Zoo's biggest and most breath-taking experience ever is going to take the nation by storm so make sure you arrange a trip to ZSL London Zoo to visit our big cats in their new home.
Land of the Lions is home to a pride of endangered Asiatic lions and you really will be able to get closer than ever before. The majestic big cats will roam just metres away from you, with only fine wires separating you from them as you peer through an awe-inspiring 'windowless-view' of the exhibit. With the opening of this exhibit we now have two exciting lion prides to visit, with our African lions based at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s Lions of the Serengeti.

Ticket Information
Opening Days: Daily year-round excluding 25 December. Summer Opening 2019: 6 April 2019 to 1 September 2019. Winter Opening 2019/20: 16 February 2019 to 5 April 2019 and 2 September 2019 to 3 April 2020.
Opening Times: From 10AM. Closing times vary dependent on time of year usually between 4PM in Winter and 6PM in Summer. Last admission is generally one hour before scheduled closing time, please check the website before arrival to avoid disappointment.
Duration: Your ticket is valid for 1 full day admission.
Address: ZSL London Zoo, Regent's Park, London NW1 4RY. Tel: 020 7722 3333. Camden Town is the nearest tube station to ZSL London Zoo with its Northern Line connection (approx. 15-minute walk). Exit the station on the right-hand side and walk along Parkway. Continue walking up Parkway for about 6 minutes until you reach Prince Albert Road, turn right into Prince Albert Road and continue for about five minutes until you reach the traffic-light controlled pedestrian crossing. Cross left here and walk over the Regent's Canal footbridge, turn right and ZSL London Zoo is then 200 metres up the road on the left-hand side.
Additional Information: Children under 16 will not be admitted without an adult. Some animal exhibits may close 30 minutes before closing time. Permission must be obtained for all filming and photography for commercial purposes. No dogs are allowed on the ZSL London Zoo premises. Bicycles are not allowed on Zoo premises. Rollerskates, rollerblades, skateboards are not allowed on Zoo premises. Children's scooters are permitted if they are supervised by an adult. Heelys roller shoes must not be used as skates, but may be worn as shoes. Please note, there is no provision for left luggage.
CONCESSION TICKETS: A person is entitled to a concession ticket if they are a Disabled Person, Senior (60yrs +) or Student (16yrs +), with supporting documents to confirm their entitlement to Concessionary Rates. Disabled children still come under the Child ticket category. ZSL offers free entry for one essential carer per paying disabled visitor, so the carer would not require a ticket for entrance. However, relevant supporting documents must be brought on the day of the visit and ZSL reserves the right to charge the applicable general admission rate to any person not able to validate their entitlement to Concession rates.
